Who is Steven M. Hoffberg? I am a patent attorney, specializing in difficult problems. I advocate for inventor’s rights, and work toward exploiting the value of intellectual property rights through protection, strategic business plan, monetization, and enforcement. In as competitive environment, I also assist clients against corresponding efforts and rights of others. I am an inventor, with 111 patents demonstrating my efforts. Are all of these good ideas? Decidedly not. But, a number of these patents are worthy. In the past, I was inspired to invent by imperfections in technologies that surrounded me. With a long- term view of technological evolution, and graduate level technology degrees from fine institutions, I had a strong background to focus on remediating problems and improving the state of the art. In my earliest efforts, I focused on adding intelligence to electronic devices, using context as a cue toward improved user interfaces and operation. I have an eye for emerging technologies, and the mind to predict how new technologies might be used in other fields. I work with my clients to protect the high value, business focused IP rights that are relevant to operations, as well as future evolution of the client and the markets in which they operate.
